  • Because we don’t have our own scholarly book stores where we can readily purchase resources. I’m attempting at this very moment to buy resources I can’t find outside of life way and amazon

      meaning?

    • Troy Day where can we regularly buy the materials. That is what I was referring too. I would purchase more if it was easy for me to get and affordable. I will wait for suggestions.

Michael Ellis Carter Jr. each Pentecostal denomination has its own publishing house NOW then its a matter of preference but MY question is HOW can a very baptist publication serve a Pentecostal congregation ?

    • Troy Day I understand that well which creates another set of issues for those of us who choose not to fully align with any denomination. Secondly each denomination is very slow. Thirdly, PAW, COOLJC, and COGIC all have limited resources and very slow production/shipping. So doctrinal things have to be created in house or things are equivalent so life-way suffices. I can order a popular study on the book of Jonah or on fear for my youth ministry and pick it up in the morning. That’s what makes them a good option for my church.

MyHealthyChurch (A/G, Gospel Publishing House) has some very modern KidMin resources with a Pentecostal emphasis in the FaithCase series.

For general Sunday School literature, I hear some find the Radiant Life curriculum a little long-in-the-tooth, though it is designed on a 7-year cycle to get a student through the whole Bible. We use their Spanish-language curriculum with the adults in our Latino ministry.

I think a lot of people would like to see something like The Gospel Project, but with a Pentecostal twist (and Arminian soteriology). But rather than wait for our publishing houses re-invent the whole wheel, they just use the Gospel Project materials they can and skip the parts that aren’t in agreement (easy to do if you only get teacher books, and don’t have student books for everyone in the class).
