I am proud of my Church of God Pentecostal Heritage in McMinnville, Tennessee. The beginning was a tent set up in our “wicked little town” in 1915 by T. S. Payne. He was unsuccessful in that campaign and moved on to Bone Cave (Laurelburg) with success and then on to Campaign for a great campaign and a great revival. All this constituted the Warren County area and was the beginning of the Church of God in the area.

Troy , my brother-in-law Clevan Kaylor, pastored the Bone Cave CoG back in the 50s. He lived to be in his 80s.

My grandmother and her friend established a Church of God in the forties. My mother and father helped establish an Assembly of God shortly after that. I attended A.G. Garr’s church in the early fifties. Then the School of the Prophets from which came the mid-century Latter Rain movement. But sad to see what has become of the Pentecostal churches. ?
