I know plenty about Ron Wyatt. All of his big stories that were capable of being checked always(!) proved false. Obviously more people love imaginative story above truth.
I read that Bob Jones prophesied that Jim Erwin woukd see the ark or something along those lines. He went with Wyatt and supposedly saw it from a plane.
One of Wyatt’s stories about tge ark told of an angel showing him the 10 commandments. The angel’s words seemed in line with SDA beliefs.
As I was heading to Turkey to visit what can only be Noah’s Ark at the exact place where the Bible tell’s us it came to rest, I was sending a journal report to a few readers of my newsletter.
Rick Joyner wrote me a note about some prophecy that Bob had, like the greatest revival ever when Noah’s Ark was discovered and revealed to the world. Rick said, when I got back that he wanted to introduce me to Bob Cornuke who claimed he found the Ark in Iran. Of course, I knew all about that, with Cornuke avoiding my strident opposition to his ridiculous claim.
About a year later, Cornuke called me. I asked him if he wanted to go with me to see the real thing. Cornuke told me that he was afraid. I understood. He was a bodyguard for Jim Irwin, the astronaut who almost died on that mountain. Well, so did I almost die on this very trip. Cornuke also told me that Randall Price was trying to destroy him.
Of course, Price was also trying to destroy my dear friend Parasut, but I now stand in the way, as I have long aimed to do. All these would-be Indiana Jones Ark searchers are afraid of me. In fact, they fear any good archaeologist, but especially Carolina Williams. ? Price does have archaeological experience. I appreciate the fact that he put Noah’s Ark on the agenda of evangelical archaeology. My involvement with Parasut is owing to him. But I have the role that Price always wanted. Parasut kicked Price off his team, so he wasn’t part of their big 2010 announcement.
Despite their problems, both Price and Cornuke have some valid discoveries. Not so Ron Wyatt. All he ever had was stories in his imagination with or without some artifact or another that he was hawking for money.
Yes, he was an Adventist and his “discoveries” were all about confirming Adventist beliefs about the Law of Moses. I visited the Adventist archaeological group at Andrews, the mother university of that sect. They shared the grief that had come to them due to Ron Wyatt. Everyone I ever spoke to who had personal dealings with Ron Wyatt had at least one incident of false dealing or fabrication on his part.
The first words I ever spoke to Cornuke, was, ‘Are you involved with Ron Wyatt?’
‘Not any more’ he said. ‘’Not since I caught him fabricating those chariot wheels.’ I could go on and on with similar things from other former associates.
Know that I have never been an Ark Searcher. My work is on the archaeological evidence of Noah’s Flood. My connection with Parasut is because I knew that he was telling the truth from the first time I heard him interviewed on TV about Caves A,B, and C which he was trying to find on the top of Mount Ararat where the Bible tells us that Noah’s Ark came to rest. To quote Norm Geisler, this discovery has ‘world changing potential.’
