Does he who speaks in tongues edifies himself also refer to repairing of the body and mind 1 Corinthians 14:4?
Some people say praying in tongues edifies your spirit but does it also repair your body and mind?

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Gal. 2
The Corinthian church was filled with carnal living, abuse of spiritual gifts, and selfish, prideful self edification instead of edifying the saints.
We also know that not all speak in tongues. What other spiritual gift is taught anywhere in Scripture is to edify self for those who do not speak in tongues? There is none! Tongues for self edification was the problem!!
Meanwhile,
Paul also carefully explained the purpose of tongues to the Corinthian church. He said that PROPHECY (declaration of the Word of God) was for the Church; tongues were a sign to unbelieving Israel, a warning of pending judgment.
Paul also wrote that tongues would cease.
Judgment fell on Israel in AD70. The purpose of tongues was completed and tongues ceased. No one has spoken in biblical tongues since the first century.

In the Law it is written, “By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord.
So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers (Israel);

Duane L Burgess read verse 5. There is one that can be interpreted. Also verse 13. If they were merely other languages than why is it called an unknown tongue? Verse 28 says if nobody interprets that he should just speak to God by himself.
If a tongue is just another language in the world who were the 12 in Acts 19:1-7 speaking to in another language that wasn’t their own?

Paul wrote that self edification was the problem.
Also, he explained the purpose of tongues, and that tongues would ceased. They ceased in the first century.

Troy Day “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.” NKJV. If that’s a problem or a sin, Paul himself was in trouble due to vs. 18: “I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all”. I never saw self-edification as a sin or a problem; just less beneficial than prophecy. And if I’m not built up spiritually myself, what do I have to offer the Body, or even the Lost?

WHY IS edifying self is a problem for you? Duane L Burgess when the BIBLE plainly states edifying self as John Mushenhouse already explained clearly

Troy Day Edifying self was the PROBLEM in Corinth.
We are to edify the Church, not the self. We are crucified with Christ. We die to self.
See, this is the problem with Pentecostals and the Charismatic Movement: unlearned babes in Christ with no understanding of biblical hermeneutics.
It’s really this simple:
The Holy Spirit gives gifts as He wills.
Some gifts are temporary.
Not all speak in tongues.
So if tongues, which not all saints have, is to edify self, where in Scripture is there anything about any other spiritual gifts to edify the self?
There are NONE. Paul was REBUKING the carnal Corinthian believers for edifying themselves.
But it’s irrelevant today because the purpose of biblical tongues, a sign to unbelieving Israel, warning of judgment, was completed in AD70.
No one has spoken in biblical tongues since the first century.
No one.
Do not be deceived.
