The theory is that man ushers in the Millennium through his own efforts, and secures his own happiness without the grace of God. This school of interpreters believe that the organized church is to prosper and extend its scope until the whole world is converted, thus bringing in the Millennium when in reality, the church is less near the accomplishment o this than in the time of the apostles. It further teaches that Christ could not, or would not come back to earth while the world is sinful and that, when it is converted, men will invite Christ back to the world to reign. This certainly is not the teaching of Scripture. The purpose of this dispensation is not the con version of the world, for all will not believe. It is the calling out of a people to serve as kings and priests with Christ during the Millennium and forever, Rev. 1:5,6; 5:9, 10; 20:4; 22:5. Cheshire The word “prepare” does not imply that Christ is now building a place for the saints as they send up material, or that the size of the different mansions depends upon how much and what kind of material we send up during this life. All the mansions are already created. This was done long before Christ talked to the disciples on this occasion. The idea is that He is to make a place for them in the mansions that are already in the Father’s house. See the usage of the word “prepare” in Matt. 20:23; 22:4; 25:34; 26:17; 1 Cor. 2:9; 2 Tim. 2:21; Rev. 8:6; 9:7,15; 12:6; 16:12.

Hebrews 11:16 (KJV) But now they desire a better [country], that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Revelation 21:2 (KJV) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Troy Day although I don’t think when Jesus said that he’s going to prepare a place for us, new Jerusalem isn’t exactly what he was talking about.

Troy Day he went and gave himself to be sacrificed. And so by doing that he made a way for us to be saved. By atoning for our sins he prepared a place for us.

Another comforter?
17: Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
(The world cannot receive the spirit of truth, but we already know him because he lives in us. But also notice at that current time Jesus told them that spirit is already dwelling with them. And then says and shall be in you. So the spirit is not yet in them. Only with them.
John 14:18 (KJV) I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
(Jesus comes to us also, at the same time we receive the spirit.)
Here they received the spirit after Jesus came back to them.
John 20:21-22 (KJV) 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
Right then and there they were born again. Jesus breathed on them. Just as God breathed into Adam the breath of life, Jesus breath onto them the Holy Ghost and made them alive. Just as when we’re saved, God did the same thing to us and made us alive.
Also, Right there is when you have the power to go out and witness. After you’ve received the spirit. You don’t have to wait to be filled. Let me say it this way. If you’re saved, Jesus says you’re sent. Just as the father sent him.
1 Peter 1:3-5 (KJV) 3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Begotten us again, (born again, made alive) by his resurrection. (Who is kept in heaven) and our inheritance is Jesus Christ.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode(dwelling place) with him.
John 14
21: he it is that loveth me: I will manifest myself to him.
22: how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us,
23: we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:28 (KJV) Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
In context he’s taking about going to the cross. Starting in chapter 13
John 13:30-33 (KJV) 30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. 31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
John 13:36 (KJV) Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
Because Jesus was taking about going to the cross. And he continues in 14. This is where he went to prepare a place. He returned to his disciples, then he breathe into them the Holy Spirit. And said now they are sent just as the Father sent Jesus. This is the comforter. This is salvation.
But what Happened at Pentecost was something a little different.
Luke 24:49 (KJV)
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
That’s when they received the power of the Holy Ghost.

Troy Day you tell me. If one taken and one left is the rapture then according to Paul, the dead get raised first. So therefore you must admit that the resurrection also occurs at the same time one is taken and one is left.

Cheshire – He prepares the place (the abode) by His death resurrection and ascension – We are in God and Him in us read JOhn 15 —-In John 14 there is nothing about the Lord improving a mansion – he is preparing the way for us to dwell with the fullness of the trinity – Read 1 John 1 too. Jesus is saying there is plenty of room and if it were not so, He would not have told them. He never spoke about making a mansion better. Our dwelling place (see the Greek) is already there and has been.

John Mushenhouse Based on this verse, later Jews affixed Tefillin (תפלין) – small boxes containing biblical texts—to their hands and foreheads. In the Greek New Testament, tefillin are called “phylacteries” (φυλακτήρια; Matt 23:5), and observant Jews wear these ritual adornments during prayer to this day. Thus, from a Jewish perspective, it is immediately clear that the “mark of the beast” takes the place of the divine commands; to accept this mark is to reject the will of God.
