| PentecostalTheology.comIt always fascinates me when discussing an instruction in the Bible and people say, “It’s not a salvation issue.” Does it have to be? If you believe that God is God, the Creator of the universe and all life on earth, the Alpha and Omega, the One with no beginning and no ending, the King of the Universe, He who split the Red Sea, who made the sun stand still, and who protected men inside a lion’s den and a fiery furnace, then why in the world do you need it to be a salvation issue in order to deem obedience to Scripture a requirement in your life? If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who walked on the water, healed the sick, raised the dead, fed multitudes with a few fish and bread loaves, and who raised Himself from the dead, then why would you ever use the term, “It’s not a salvation issue,” in any debate about obedience to any statute of Scripture?
Those who say, “It’s not a salvation issue,” really shouldn’t be worried about whether or not it is a salvation issue, they should be worried about the condition of their heart toward God that is driving them to say, “It’s not a salvation issue.”

“Can two walk together unless they be agreed.” Amos 3:3 (paraphrase) a classic holiness verse.
My dad used to say one degree isn’t much. Unless you are aiming for the moon…

I usually hear this reasoning when people disagree on something theologically but want to assert that it’s not that important (even when it probably is still).

Is eschatology a salvation issue?
I’ve been down this road some years now and I still haven’t lost a brother over it. Or any sleep either. For the blood bought child of God, Jesus is very near. In prayer, in work, in sleep, in rising, in fellowship and in help. And in healing grace… He remains the pearl of great price.
