| PentecostalTheology.comThe Center for the Study of the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit Today will be hosting an academic symposium October 27-28, 2023.
Theme: The Holy Spirit and the healing of the body.
On behalf of the Center for the Study of the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit Today, we are inviting you to submit research paper proposals pertaining to the theme of the 2023 symposium. Our vision is for this interdisciplinary discussion to traverse the landscapes of the psychological, neurological, spiritual and biblical-theological (although not limited to these areas), culminating in a collective exploration of the Holy Spirit and the healing of the human body.
This conversation within the guild of pneumatology will be showcased at the upcoming Fall 2023 Holy Spirit Academic Symposium. The selected scholars, along with Biola’s five faculty fellows chosen to engage in this research, will present their findings at this time. Keynote speaker, Dr. Craig Keener, and responses by Dr. Candy Gunther Brown, will provide the biblical-theological foundation for a deeper discovery of the healing work of the Holy Spirit. We encourage you to submit an abstract (300 words) to the committee by completing this form.
Join the already accepted research from the following scholars: Dr. Carmen Imes, Dr. Leon Harris, Dr. Richard Gunasekera, Dr. James Johansen, and Professor Helen Mitchell.
The research produced for the symposium will serve students across diverse disciplines, including theology, business, social science, and biological science, integrating the work of the Divine Spirit with those areas of study. Additionally, pastors and leaders will also obtain a wider breadth of knowledge and understanding regarding healing within the Church. We truly hope you will consider sharing at this academic event.

With all due respect: We need, and rather urgently, genuine Holy Ghost’s Power manifested in our midst. No longer time or room for the “dry bones” church of all these past years, as we ourselves, and millions in our midst, whether churched or otherwise, face sorely pressing needs and baffling issues or challenges–and that in spite of our world’s apparent sophistication and affluence. Either the “Gifts” show in and through us as His worthy vessels, or we are no different than the snake-oil peddlers of yonder years. No time to waste folks!!!
John 1:12
[12]But as many as received Him, to them gave He Power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:
Matthew 9:8
[8]But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such Power unto men.
Ephesians 1:18-19
[18]The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His Calling, and what the Riches of the Glory of His “inheritance” in the Saints, [19]And what is the exceeding greatness of His Power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty Power.
Where is our Divine Power? Either we have it or we don’t! And then again, no time to waste!!

Philip Williams yes Billy Meacham ONLY 4 comments this being the 5
and yes you are correct that mainly Philip Williams comments AND only Philip’s amusing and somewhat sarcastic post. 🙂 perhaps maybe Link Hudson could comment on a Pentecostal post as well but only AFTER he becomes a true Pentecostal someday – we will wait to discuss this while he is in class so tagging can sound like a Liberty Bell on his phone NOW bro Billy you must understand Philip Williams is more of a catholic charismatic from the bethel church cult meaning he dont know the Holy Spirit from a hole in the wall

Well I wasn’t trying to beat up on anyone, just expressing my disappointment with not being able to read all the comments on certain posts. I seem to be able to read all the comments on other posts, but for some reason this one is restricting to Philip’s and now your comment.
To address the “Philip Williams is more of a catholic charismatic”, theologian Steve Land wrote that Pentecostalism is more…”Catholic than Protestant in emphasizing sanctification-transformation more than forensic justification, but more Protestant than Catholic in conviction that the Word is the authority over the church and tradition for matters of faith, patience, government, and discipline.”
We do share a common heritage and theology, but we diverge on application. Nothing wrong with a bit of chatter among ‘family’.

Billy Meacham understood but these are ALL the comments. They are also archived here https://www.pentecostaltheology.com/holy-spirit-symposium-2023-call-for-papers/ @ times some ppl Ive noticed Link Hudson in particular would delete comments and posts. The cite still archives them so its rather easy when 2-3yrs later someone comes with I do not recall what I said – boom, there it is in your own writing ON THIS topic though Terry Wiles some Peter Vandever and maybe Oscar Valdez that would know

Troy Day I don’t delete often. I think I did with one or two when you constantly tagged me and filled up my inbox.
Anonymous
Link Hudson you dont delete often but when you do you fail to recollect like on your famous video about gay polygamies and wife abuse Youve been asking for tagging when you tag during church time, so naturally the autoTag kicks in and your box shall overflow with our comments
Anonymous
I do not believe I have ever made a video about ‘gay polygamies.’ If I pointed out the absurdity of so-called ‘gay marriage’ in a video, that’s possible.
I think I deleted a post once here because of constant tagging over years. I don’t recall every deleting a video for anything related to this forum.
I made a video once that commented on how a certain vlogger had tried to associate or equate the belief that wives must submit to their husbands with spousal abuse, and you tried to insinuate that I was supporting spousal abuse.
Anonymous
Link Hudson enormous pile of empty words – you would recall I actually found the video and you recalled making it and so on recollections
Anonymous
Troy Day What video? I made one that did _not_ endorse spousal abuse. It’s on video.
And I notice you haven’t commented on the meta tauta issue, Dake, etc.

Troy Day K, fair enough. You won’t need to worry about me deleting my comments. I am willing to be critiqued and when appropriate change my position. But I think that it is more valuable to keep a record of the development on a line of thinking rather than to retroactively protect my reputation. Far easier to own it and then leave it in the past. 🙂

Billy Meacham I think you offer a fair assessment. However, at the time you contacted administration we could only see 4 comments too. Maybe FB hid it from all of us Not to sure what Link Hudson is talking about

Troy Day I don’t see all the comments.

Philip Williams how do you know that? how many do you see

Jesus said,
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, HE WILL BEAR WITNESS ABOUT ME…
Do not be deceived by those who focus on the work of the Holy Spirit and alleged spiritual experiences.

Duane L Burgess Jesus spoke of the work of the Holy Spirit. Without this work, how does one get saved and please, no Calvinistic jibber jabble.—7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; John 16- Duane in your presuppositional brain washing you have not considered the work of the Spirit. He is the Spirit of Christ and of truth. He always speaks of Jesus as you can’t divide Him from Jesus. You need to beyond your doctrinal memorized stances and actually study about the Spirit. Troy Day, Link Hudson, Brett Dobbs and all.

John Mushenhouse I would submit Link Hudson would know nothing about NO Holy Ghost Symposium – not sure about Brett Dobbs and all. Oscar Valdez did not pick his first pentecostal book till 2017 either
Anonymous
Duane L Burgess JESUS did NOT say Advocate – he never did. Pls reconsider using MORE than Vines and Strongs as John Mushenhouse has already suggested

Billy Monroe Poff Billy Meacham it is nice of course for the sake of Link Hudson and other Pentecostal nubs that you impress and address the “Philip Williams is more of a catholic charismatic”, theologian Steve Land wrote that Pentecostalism is more…”Catholic than Protestant in emphasizing sanctification-transformation more than forensic justification, but more Protestant than Catholic in conviction that the Word is the authority over the church and tradition for matters of faith, patience, government, and discipline.” BUT if I recall Land correctly and I do, which Neil Steven Lawrence Oscar Valdez may too recall, he writes
Pentecostals are more eastern than western
More orthodox than Catholic in his chapter on
PENTECOSTAL mysticism re-envisioning in it Symeon the New Theologian

Troy Day No doubt. I wasn’t attempting to answer all possible questions, only clarifying my viewpoint. I obviously did not include the whole quote or other sources and expansions, only what I thought relevant. Cheers.
