Who are the intended recipients of the fourth gospel (John)?

For example, is it for:

  1. The Jewish community who had questions about the identity of Jesus?
  2. The Gentiles who need to know the relationship between Jesus and God?

A good answer should explain what the gospel was intended to communicate to this audience.

Please provide your answers, including clear citations if possible.

We can add the fourth Pentecost with the creative doctrines like adding a first and second return of Christ before the millennial age like pretribbers do.

Literally, “Pentecost’ translate a related Greek word used to an annual Jewish festival. Pentecostals have sometimes used the word as a metaphor for type of experience the apostles had in Acts 2. Now, we are hearing it used to refer to a revival similar to the revival that followed the events of Acts 2.

Troy Day You tell me, it’s your OP. Fourth Pentecost sounds rather creative though, kind of like adding an extra return of Christ.

The literal fourth Pentecost was probably four years after God told Israel about the annual feasts through Moses.

Link Hudson it says fourth GOSPEL brother – are you OK? The fourth GOSPEL is a normal theological term for the Gospel of John among scholars – to differ it from the synoptics and as the latest gospel John
