Here we are again with another Feast of Trumpets upon us. To me, the Feast of Trumpets is when our Lord will come and rapture us out of this world. Even though I believe this feast perfectly fits the rapture scenario, it still doesn’t stop me from looking up every day and hoping this could be the day that Jesus comes and takes us all home to be with Him where He is.
At the time of this posting, this feast may not have arrived yet, or we may be in the midst of it, or it may have already passed without the rapture happening.
If you believe as I do about the Feast of Trumpets being the appointed time of the rapture and it has already passed without that happening, how is your faith affected? Is it shattered? Certainly, we are disappointed!
If the Lord has come back and raptured us, we will not be reading this at all, but we will be beholding His face in the clouds! But if not… we need to keep trusting, and as the apostle Peter said in 2 Peter 3:15, we need to “account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation.” Waiting one more day or one more year might mean the salvation of one of our loved ones or friends. Wouldn’t that be worth the wait? I would say so!
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know” (John 14:1-4).
A good example in the Bible of having a “But if not faith” is found in Daniel 3:18. Three Jewish boys were presented with the option of bowing down before the golden statue of King Nebuchadnezzar and living, or refusing to bow down and being executed. They purposed ahead of time in their hearts to remain true to their biblical convictions even if it meant death for them. Of course, they hoped to live, but if not… they would still trust God.
Things don’t always go the way we want them to go in this life, even as believers. Whoever says to the contrary is a liar and is not biblical.
If the Lord has raptured us, we won’t be reading this (praise the Lord!). But if not… and we are reading this – try having a “But If Not Faith” just like those three Jewish Boys in Daniel 3:18.
