The Tribulation, Part 2 Teaching Session No. VI Prophetic Scripture and the Dark Reign of the Antichrist and the Coming Millennial Reign
Text: Matthew 24:15-31
Introduction: In the Tribulation, we can see the Antichrist and see the false prophets, and the fact that Jesus predicted that people will come in His name, claiming to be Christ, and will deceive many in Matthew 24:5. They will be so clever and work such extraordinary wonders that they will deceive all but God’s chosen people as seen in Mark 13:22, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” There will be an increase of apostasy, and unbelief will mark the last days. Aware that error would flourish and there would be a falling away from the truth of the gospel, Paul wrote in I Timothy 3:1, “Now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; V2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Today, already, there are many cults which are flourishing: John saw seals and trumpets and bowls!
- I Would Like for Us to Look at John’s Vision and What It Is Representing: a. The 1St Seal: Revelation 6:1&2, A rider on a white horse: Most Bible scholars interpret the rider on this horse to be the Antichrist. b. The 2nd Seal: Revelation 6:3&4, A rider on a red horse: Representing the bloodshed from war on the earth. c. The 3rd Seal: Revelation 6:5&6, A rider on a black horse: Representing famine. d. The 4th Seal: Revelation 6:7&8, A rider on a pale horse: Where one fourth of the world’s population dies from warfare, famine, and disease. e. The 5th Seal: Revelation 6:9-11, Speaks of souls under the altar: This is representing those who were martyred for the sake of Christ. f. The 6th Seal: Revelation 6:12-17, Natural calamities. These are people that are gripped with fear and hide for safety in caves. g. The 7t1 Seal: Revelation 8:1&2, presented the judgment of the seven trumpets.
- Let’s Look at the Event of the Trumpet and Impact: a. 1st Trumpet: Revelation 8:7 starts hail and five with blood. The impact is one-third of the earth’s vegetation is destroyed. b. 2″d Trumpet: Revelation 8:8-9, A burning mountain drops into the sea. The impact is one-third of the sea becomes blood; one-third of sea animals die; one-third of all ships are destroyed. c. 3rd Trumpet: Revelation 8:10&1 1, A star falls from the sky. The impact is one-third of drinking water becomes contaminated; many die from poisoning. d. 4th Trumpet: Revelation 8:12, Heavenly bodies collide. The impact is that one-third of earth’s
light is lost. e. 5th Trumpet: Revelation 9:1-12, Poisonous locusts attack people. The impact is that people suffer painful torture for five months. f. 6th Trumpet: Revelation 9:13-20, Two hundred million horsemen attack. The impact is one-third of mankind is killed.
III. The Seventh Trumpet Presented the Seven Bowls: a. Revelation 1 1 : 15&19 and the Bowl judgments in Revelation 11:15-16, Bowl: Bowl, horrible, malignant sores will break out on anyone who has the “Mark of the Beast” and has worshipped his statue in Revelation 16:2, “And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth: and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.” b. 2nd Bowl: The oceans turn to blood, and everything in them dies. Revelation 16:3 c. 3rd Bowl: The earth’s rivers and springs turn to blood. Revelation 16:4 d. 4th Bowl: The heat from the sun intensifies, and everyone is scorched. Revelation 16:8&9
