| PentecostalTheology.comGOD’S SECRET STRATEGY FOR YOU – Ray E Horton
God’s strategy for your life and ministry isn’t really secret, yet it is for those who don’t have eyes to see. When we open our spiritual eyes, we will discover that not just theoretically but in reality, He is all in all.
The Lord’s way is really so simple, it is in fact like the old cliche: “Let go and let God.” Pride wants to do things our way. Pride wants to institutionalize what He did once and put Him in a box. But, while our God never changes, His ways are dynamic.
We come up with a plan. It is not wrong. It is Biblical. And we put faith in our plan. Lord bless my plan. No, no, no! He is the Master Planner. Seek His face. Wait on Him. Pray, “Lord carry out YOUR plan through me. You take all the glory.”
God wants to lead us and guide us. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Put God in charge
With God in charge, His life in and through you, and indeed as you, will be so much more effective and fruitful than anything you could come up with
If you are patient in prayer and trust the Lord and not your own good ideas, He will lead you in the way you should go. With God in charge, His life in and through you, and indeed as you, will be so much more effective and fruitful than anything you could come up with.
“Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name” (Psalm 86:11). Lord, your ways are higher than my ways. May I single-mindedly, united in my heart with You, care more about what You think than what man thinks about me.
What is God’s call on your life? Be careful when you believe you have found it that you remain flexible and don’t just run with it. Seek Him step by step. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Lord, may Your Word to my heart not only light My path toward your vision, but may it be a lamp for each step I take.
Pride wants to do it
Jesus said: “…For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.” (John 5:19). “…It is the Father, living in Me, who is doing His work” (John 14:10). Let these words be true of us as well, for “…as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).
God is not telling us to shelve our intellect. After all, it is a gift from Him. However, our intellect must be submitted to and guided by Him. Pride says I want to do it for God. But God says, I want to do it through you, even as you.
