The Puritan and Higher Life Movements reemphasized it–especially A.B. Simpson, founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and the author of the original classic book “The Authority of the Believer” in 1932 by spiritual warfare pioneer John MacMillan, Canadian Alliance missionary to China and the Philippines.
