Is his interpretation sanctified. Lots of interpretations are not sanctified. Many interpreters are born again and what they say is without being sanctified.
What exactly do you mean by that? As the Bible teaches, if you’re born again you are, by definition, sanctified (made holy) by the blood of Jesus, by the water of the Word, by the Holy Spirit Himself. How dare we suggest that a BELIEVER is NOT sanctified? Now, as to whether he’s PERFECT (including interpretations), THAT is another story. But let’s be clear on our terms please.
Yes, this is one of my articles. Believing in Christ does not make us perfect people without the ability to do wrong. We must still choose to do the correct thing. Sanctified thinking brings about Sanctified actions. It is our personal choice. Paul calls this “Self Control”. Titus Chapter 2 shows us that God’s Word instructs us to be self-controlled. If we automatically become a person without flaw then Paul’s instructions are invalid. We must choose to do the correct thing.
You can’t get sanctified by wishing and hoping, praying and planning you have to act on the word and let the Holy Spirit do His part. This is old fashion instantaneous work of grace once practiced by the Church of God in the past.
James 1:23-24
For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves] in a mirror; 24 for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like (NRSV).
It is our choice to obey God’s Word. We can’t obey His Word without His providing His strength to us to obey.
As a matter of fact, God provides strength to live the life of Sanctification.
1 Peter 4:11
Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen (NLT).
As a matter of fact, God provides strength to live the life of Sanctification. That is a very Calvinist answer and one I have grown to detest. The other side of that coin is that if you don’t genuinely live the life you were never regenerated in the first place.
Now I could live with “you were never sanctified in the first place” but not born again. Our sanctification is subsequent to the new birth.
Charles Page, when I support the statement, “God provides strength to live the life of Sanctification.” This is saying that we do have a choice and that we can’t live Holy by our strength. We must lean on God’s strength.
Charles Page The split in Liberty Baptist and the expelling of over 40 people did not happen b/c any other doctrine like Spirit baptism or charismata gifts but b/c they wanted to make sure they were saved. It happened b/c of the Weslyan doctrine of entire sanctification. The split occurred b/c of a strife for true holiness. Let’s talk more about that – lets make it the standard for our discussion.

If Calvin said, God provides strength to live the life of Sanctification,” then he was simply explaining the Word.
You are correct. We should not say, that someone was never regenerate in the first place. Sanctification, is subsequent to Salvation.
Charles Page
We have a choice of living a sanctified life, Calvinism denies that
David Lavoie
I don’t think so.
David Lavoie
Calvinists differ broadly and not all seem to have read the works they reference.
Maybe theirs some smacking of that somewhere in the camp but I haven’t t seen it
