ORDO SALUTIS according to Link Hudson

“(1) Preach and teach the Gospel so that people understand it.

(2) When they recieve [sic] the message, let them confess their faith and baptize them with water.

(3) Lay hands on them to be filled with the Spirit.

(4) After they have been baptized in water (whether by our own group or other believers) we accept them into fellowship and they can partake of communion with us.”

Charles Page [11/05/2015 5:56 PM]
isn’t that CoG polity?

Link Hudson [11/05/2015 6:19 PM]
That’s the order in Acts 2. The Holy Ghost can change the order like he did in Acts 10. Peter’s response was ‘who can forbid water?”

Charles Page, the OP is a summary of something I wrote in another thread.

Christopher Hart [11/05/2015 6:31 PM]
Haven’t seen the other discussion, but taken as stated above, I would agree with that.

do we just assume the initial evidence as speaking in tongues? Christopher Hart

Link Hudson, how (when) does one become regenerate in this order of salutis? if people fail to understand it or if the directions are unbiblical can they still be born again? there is closed communion? no that is pre-regenerate activity performed by God. He quickens the dead body to newness of life.

New birth is not done with a hook but through the gentle hands of the #CREATOR

Charles Page [11/05/2015 7:22 PM]
New birth is not done with a hook but through the gentle hands of the Holy Baptizer!! cleansing water of regeneration

Henry Volk [11/05/2015 7:37 PM]
A very odd ordo salutis indeed.

John Kissinger [11/05/2015 7:44 PM]
I think Link has done a good framework – missing a few details

Henry Volk [11/05/2015 7:51 PM]
No, I mean the picture.

Henry Volk Found this great discussion on Pentecostal ordo salustis which shows Link Hudson has historical followed ORDO SALUTIS BAPTICOSTALIS 🙂

You are misrepresenting my views. I do not say someone has to have hands laid on him, for example, to be saved.

I don’t think anyone really understands what the words ‘Baptiscostal’ or ‘Baptiscostolis’ when Troy Day uses them except for Troy Day, if he even understands it.

    “Shaka, when the walls fell.”

Link Hudson The term is actually BAPTICOSTALIS, And yes it seems like you like a clear understanding of Pentecostal theology too What else is out there for you?

How so? All your words presented as a quote in the appropriate styling. No editing of your quote whatsoever and you confirm in the comment section that that’s is exactly what you said… ?

Look up ‘ordo salutis’. I don’t say that you have to have hands laid on you, for example, to be saved.

OK Link did you not write this yourself?

“(1) Preach and teach the Gospel so that people understand it.

    (2) When they recieve [sic] the message, let them confess their faith and baptize them with water.

    (3) Lay hands on them to be filled with the Spirit.

    (4) After they have been baptized in water (whether by our own group or other believers) we accept them into fellowship and they can partake of communion with us.”

I didn’t say that this was ordo salutis.

Did you not then confirm Link Hudson on 11/05/2015 6:19 PM that “That’s the order in Acts 2. The Holy Ghost can change the order like he did in Acts 10. Peter’s response was ‘who can forbid water?”

Troy Day, I didn’t say if no one lays hands on you and you get hit by a bus, you go to Hell. Doesn’t ordo salutis have to do with salvation?

Hey Link Of course you have the right to change your mind on what ever you believe AS long as we agree that you wrote that and not some one else.

yeah I dont buy this one either Charles Page have you noticed HOW NAR changes ordo solutis into more baptist one?

    • Reply July 22, 2019

      Charles Page

Troy Day that OS was the order taught by Bowdle and not as COG declaration
Subsequent sanctification is a departure from a Baptist confession
