Grace – God Treating You as Jesus Deserves – Jeffrey Stewart

The Lord says: “Man’s definition of Grace is ‘God’s unmerited favor’. Have you noticed how this definition mentions neither Jesus nor the Cross? That’s because this definition did NOT come from Me. My definition of Grace is this: “I treat you with the favor Jesus deserves. He received what you deserved on the Cross. You believed on Him. I placed you IN HIM. And now I treat you LIKE HIM. That is My definition of Grace.”
God’s definition of Grace: “I treat you with the favor Jesus deserves. He received what you deserved on the Cross. You believed on Him. I placed you IN HIM. And now I treat you LIKE HIM”
Eph 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”
God sees all men as either in Adam or in Christ. The Old Testament, the Old Covenant, was between God and people of Israel. The New Covenant is between God and Christ. Between the Father and the Son. It is FAR SUPERIOR. Because we are IN CHRIST, EVERY BLESSING the Father pours on Jesus flows to us. We have been blessed with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING in Christ.
So this is God’s definition of Grace: God the Father treats you like He treats Jesus. He loves you like He loves Jesus (John 17:23). He accepts you like He accepts Jesus. His Face shines on you like it shines on Jesus. He hears your prayers like He hears Jesus’ prayers. All because we are now IN CHRIST.
All Because We Are Now in Christ
All because we are now IN CHRIST, He never sees us as separate from Christ. When we believed in Him, He placed us IN CHRIST. We are now one spirit with the Lord. We have been placed INSIDE the Relationship between The Father and Jesus, because we are IN CHRIST. The Father will always direct His Love toward Jesus, so He will always direct His Love toward us, because we are IN CHRIST. The Father will always completely accept Jesus, so because we are IN CHRIST, He will always accept US COMPLETELY. The Father’s Face always shines on Jesus, so the Father’s Face will always SHINE ON US because we are IN CHRIST.
This is what He purchased for us on the Cross, the blessing of Grace is so far beyond mere “unmerited favor.” It is receiving the favor due Jesus, AS A GIFT. The Father treating us EXACTLY as He treats Jesus, throughout ALL ETERNITY. AND THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF ETERNAL LIFE. AND THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE AND CAN EXPERIENCE – NOW – NOT JUST IN THE FUTURE
It is infinitely more powerful than man’s definition of Grace: “God’s Unmerited Favor”. This will upset some who have been taught for years what the word Grace means. That definition came from reason. God’s definition is FAR MORE POWERFUL AND LIBERATING, and it blesses and edifies FAR MORE than the words “Grace is God’s unmerited favor.”
Grace is God Treating You as Jesus Deserves
What greater act of kindness or gift (Charis, the Greek word for Grace), can the Lord do to a man but to treat Him like He treats Jesus. On the Cross, He treated Jesus as YOU deserved. NOW, He is treating you as JESUS deserves. GRACE IS GOD TREATING YOU AS JESUS DESERVES. Grace is also God treating Jesus as you deserved on the Cross. Jesus paid a high price to the Father to show grace to us. So, we should walk in everything He did for us.
You can see how God’s definition of Grace points to the Cross a lot more than man’s does. It is a FAR GREATER GIFT than we can possibly imagine. Grace – God treating us with the favor due Jesus.
