Библията Тв | PentecostalTheology.comRed Back Hymnal App on your Smart Phone
Rick Wadholm Jr has shown some interest in my explanation WHY Red Back Hymnals were like the smart phones back in the day
1. it acts like your kindle reader pointing you to your best psalms, songs and spiritual hymns (all-in-one)
2. it acts like a map app – if you don’t know where you are located just look at the title page where your exact location will be stamped
3. it is like color picker app – color always match the carpet and may be even some other elements present in your church surroundings like pews, pulpit, etc. on the picture – shame someone tore it up
4. it could be used like a history app whereas several generations of parishioners have left written impressions from their sermon experience from various guest speakers with exact text used and time of the message delivered
5. in some creed operandus churches it may contain the creed(s) (not seen in non-creed churches)
6. Depending on the time and laws, it may contain other useful information as per the beliefs and praxis of the church where used as seen on the picture where hymnal is used as both spiritual and AA app
7. Finally, it could be used as an educational app whereas while cutting up in church your mom uses it promptly on the back of your head just in time for you to cry out “I saw the light!” (no picture available)

Troy Day, The songbook to some they say some of the songs are not doctrinally correct.
There are many songs about the blood of Jesus Christ and the Cross.
There are songs about mother.
There are songs about where to take your cares.
There are songs about inviting people to come to Jesus.
There are songs about prayers and praying..
There are songs about our blessed Hope, the Second Coming Of Jesus.
No the songbook didn’t have songs that were dealing with the social issues of today, like some want to here.
No we didn’t have many songs that repeated the same seven words eleven time.
These songs made you repent, weep, but so many times they would lift up your spirits.
You can’t sing LIFT ME UP ABOVE THE SHADOWS and not have your spirits lifted
You could sing I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MY LORD and feel good and urgency to read your Bible and pray more.
And oh the joy of meeting our loved ones just inside the EASTERN GATE.

I’ve got one. That’s the song books we used growing up. Then at Camp Meetings we used in choir singing we used conventional songs, great Camp Meetings song books. Then to praise songs. And now. Still praise. But a. Different kind. Sometimes at our Church. We might use all three kinds in one service.we try just to follow the Spirit. Our services are great.

One of my granddaughters favorites I think was number 46. The name was I’d rather be an old tim Christian, than any thing I know. That’s still my testimony today. There’s nothing like an old time Christian.

My favorite verse if it’s ok to write it. It says Aa the world is bright since I got right. Now I sing and pray and shout. All my burdens have been lifted. Since the Savior bro’ t me out; l will tell the world both far and near. As I travel here below , That I’d rather be an old- time Christian. Than any thing I know. (Chorus). I’d rather be an old- time Christian, Than any thing I know. There’s nothing like an old- time Christian. With a Christian love to show. ; I’m walking in the grand old high-way, And I’m telling Every I go. That I’d rather be an old- time Christian. Than any thing I know. ( now tell me what’s wrong with that song. It’s a great song and testimony. ).

been saying this for YEARS
They are NOW making it PUBLIC again
an old professor once told me in his office WHILE we still have our PENTECOSTAL SINGING we will continue to have Pentecost and Pentecostal theology
Interesting noted by Daniel J Hesse
As hymnals fade, theology also suffers. The rich repository of religious wisdom contained in hymns will be lost. The old-fashioned language of hymns may strike some as unusual, but their text teaches the Christian faith far better than most of the praise choruses that dominate contemporary services. Old hymns were carefully crafted with theology at the forefront. Traditional hymns present doctrine clearly and beautifully convey the gospel story of saving grace.

Daniel J Hesse projectors used to be useful BUT just this sunday I observed some lazy projector person WHO posted the WHOLE song on one slide Impossible to follow from afar Crazy lazy if you ask me – and how are ppl to learn the songs again?
Been saying this for years – if you cant preach it without a power point you cant preach it with one Michael Ellis Carter Jr. and where is your projector in the street preaching and prayers and singing? William DeArteaga Joe Absher Jesse Morrell Steve Phifer

Troy Day I like the idea of digital hymnals. In our team meeting this week I just talked about finding a way to send our messages and worship to the audiences digitally without relying on other people networks or apps

The whole truth is, the church needs to hear “what the Spirit is saying” to the churches and what He has also said. The Holy Spirit speaks in many ways and one of them is through the music of congregational worship. It has been so since the time of King David. The classic hymns of the church contain what the Spirit has said–doctrine–while contemporary songs can contain what the Spirit is saying today. When we hear the voice of the Spirit through the anointed songwriters of today, this becomes prophetic in both senses of the word: 1) proclaiming the Word of God and 2) leading us into the future (edification.) We need both the songs of our heritage, the songs of this moment, and the songs that prepare us for tomorrow. This is so much deeper than personal preference or generational cultures. If we are to worship in Spirit and Truth we need both the “torch” (the Word) and the “trumpet” (His praise.) As long as we are distracted by our preferences, the Dove of the Spirit broods in waiting for the church to really worship.https://stevephifer.com/torch-and-trumpet/

Very blessed! Thank you brother! Our Heavenly Father took care of us, it got almost supernaturally warm only for the ceremony. Learned our lesson to trust farmer’s almanac. Haha
