The Hezekiah (Heb: Chizkiyahu) narrative in II Kings (chapters 17 – 20) and Isaiah (36 – 39) concludes on a dissonant and haunting confrontation between King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah. Hezekiah has just shown his kingdom’s wealth to messengers of Brodach Baladan, King of Babylonia. Isaiah asks Hezekiah about his guests, and when Hezekiah tells him where they are from, Isaiah proclaims:
Behold, days are coming and everything in your house and what your
ancestors have collected until this day will be carried off to
Babylonia, nothing will remain saith the Lord. And the children that
you will beget will be taken to be eunuchs in the palace of the King
of Babylonia. And Hezekiah responded to Isaiah, the word of the Lord
that you have spoken is good, insomuch as there will be peace and
truth in my days. (II Kings 20:17-18, JPS translation).
This prophecy of doom is devastating and perplexing. Does Isaiah mean to say that Hezekiah is literally responsible for the future exile and destruction at the hands of Babylonians? If so, what did he do wrong? How should Hezekiah have known it was bad to receive foreign emissaries from Babylonia?

Indeed now is not the time at all to be preaching a false gospel

144,000 was a Jewish figure of speech , not a literal number , it basically means everyone.

Teresa James Are you a Hebrew Israelite? One of the rules of this forum is you can’t talk bad about Israel. Saying everyone except semites are the tribes is talking bad about Israel. Saying there are no Jews in Israel is talking bad about them. I’ll be watching you.

The scripture says they left with Christ 2000 years ago. The first resurrection happened when Christ was raised from the dead. The graves opened and all the OT Prophets and believers who died before Christ. There is no other resurrection except the one to come for all the beleivers that believed after Christ ascended. 1 Corinthians 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
The Firstfruits are those He took with Him including the 144k. Revelation 14:4-5 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they WHICH FOLLOW THE LAMB WHITHERSOEVER HE GOETH. These WERE REDEEMED from among men, being the FIRSTFRUITS unto God and to the Lamb. (5) And in their mouth was found no guile: for they ARE without fault BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD. All this is past tense.

No the 144,000 is not past tense. This happens during the final 7 years..

These 144000 chosen from 12 tribes will eventually be the kings of the earth during 1000 year reign onward.

Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and here was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him were one hundred and forty-four thousand, who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
2 I also heard a sound coming out of heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. Now the sound I heard was like that made by harpists playing their harps,
3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one was able to learn the song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth.
4 These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from humanity as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb,
5 and no lie was found on their lips; they are blameless.
6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, and he had an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth – to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
7 He declared in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has arrived, and worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!”
8 A second angel followed the first, declaring: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great city! She made all the nations drink of the wine of her immoral passion.”
9 A third angel followed the first two, declaring in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and takes the mark on his forehead or his hand,
10 that person will also drink of the wine of God’s anger that has been mixed undiluted in the cup of his wrath, and he will be tortured with fire and sulfur in front of the holy angels and in front of the Lamb.
11 And the smoke from their torture will go up forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have no rest day or night, along with anyone who receives the mark of his name.”
12 This requires the steadfast endurance of the saints – those who obey God’s commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: ‘Blessed are the dead, those who die in the Lord from this moment on!'” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from their hard work, because their deeds will follow them.”

Something very interesting happens when you look at those names in that order. There are many lists like this in the Bible, but this is the only time this one appears like this. Also. Not all the tribes are there. But.. when you look at the meanings of these names, given when Rebecca and Leah are naming their boys we see this interesting thing: I will praise the Lord, for He has looked on me and granted good fortune. I am happy because my wrestling; God is making me to forget. God hears me and is attached to me. He has purchased me a dwelling and will add to me, the Son of His right hand. … is it a literal group of people? idk. Is it the only saved? I sure hope not! There are almost 8 billion people in the world !!! .. we’re more likely to win the lottery in this lifetime, if that is the only number of people who are saved..

Also- The teaching that only that # goes to Heaven, is a Jehovah’s Witness teaching and it is against the Bible. Revelation speaks of a rapture after Jesus comes back. All those alive and remain will be caught up together with the righteous dead, and will ever be with the Lord.. They go to Heaven.. for 1,000 years to rein with Jesus- so if only 144,000 are going… that is really sad. Its almost no one when you think about it in todays world. This has completely turned some away from Christ and the Bible completely.. because they feel they have no hope or chance.. there are more than 144,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses alone, and they claim they are the only ones going to Heaven.. the rest us get to what ?? Stay here ?? Burn up ?? Sorry, but I think its a false doctrine from Babylon myself.. I think the tribes are meant to be figurative.. and mean something else myself (Y)
