Who says a person has to be a Calvinist or an Arminian? They were both only men. Not divine.

Saved by grace. By grace that we even want to accept him. We still have to choose.

The problem with those claiming that they didn’t “choose” to accept Christ is that it makes Christ’s death on the cross exclusive, only pertaining to certain people. Last I checked, Christ died for the whole world.
1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
