  We are saved by Grace through faith, and an expression of our faith in Jesus is that we repent and turn from our sin. James said “show me your faith without works and I’ll show you my faith by my works”

  We are not saved by our works, however the grace of God empowers us to do the works of faith and an example of that is conducting ourselves in a way that doesn’t lead us to sin and also leads others to Jesus.

  we are empowered to repentance by the new birth. We repent because we are born again not born again because we repent.

    MR. Page..initial salvation comes AFTER true repentence. With our mouth we confess that JESUS is Lord and are only means of salvation and with the heart we believe this unto salvation. How do we know we need a Saviour?? We are convicted of our sinfulness and want to turn from our wicked sin nature(repentence) by the drawing of the Holy Spirit, We ,believe,repent,trust in the blood of JESUS to take away our sin and then we are born again by the power of GOD (The Holy Spirit).

  Jesus showed grace to the woman in adultery by forgiving her, but also instructed her “go away and sin no more” fare to say that she was saved from death and he’ll and no doubt repented, what was left is that she conduct herself in a manner worthy of the calling that God had given her in Christ.

  Repentance comes before baptism. For no one can say that Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost ( corinthians 12:3) and we must first repent in order to receive the Holy Ghost

  do you receive the Holy Ghost because you repent? Don’t you receive the Holy Ghost after you are born again. you are sanctified when you repent and then you receive the Holy Ghost.

  We are justified in Christ- And sanctified by the Holy Spirit- So try not to quench or grieve the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. We should do the things that “please the Lord” Living in repentance pleases the Lord: “be merciful to me, the sinner!”

  When the word is preached those who have ears to hear will hear and repentance for sin takes place. Then after that they receive the Holy Ghost, even Jesus said this.

  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.   Yes that’s correct, amen, and because of that God has given you the Holy Ghost, but he does not give it to those who choose not to repent of their sins and turn from them, otherwise his name is blasphemed

  If you believe that God paid for a specific amount of sins that he foreknows……(which I dont). The atonement covers every sin but isnt activated until the new birth and confession. Thats why if any sins we have an advocate with the father. Its an ongoing process.

  Heb 10:10 does not refer to any future sins. It simple reads that Christ offered his body only at one time for all men as sinners in order that those forgiven (“we”; faith and repentance assumed) would be set apart, to serve God cp. 9:24-28).

  v.14: Again, future sins are not being forgiven; there is nothing in the text re: future sins. It reads, emphasizing the one offering, men are made *perfect* (“a one-time event with a continuing result”), that is, complete fit for God’s purposes, as they are being continually sanctified (or, purified), progressing in further holiness.

  v.18: All that is stated here is simply that no further sacrifice is necessary for sins already forgiven. However, the reference gives no indication that future sins are being contemplated.

  From a logical standpoint, let me just say:

  (a) For sins to be forgiven they must be committed in order to incur guilt. Since future sins are not committed, no guilt is incurred by them.

  (b) Christ died for actual sins committed, not potential sins. That one may possibly commit sins in the future only allows for the possibility of those sins being forgiven.

  (c) Which brings us further to the point that only sins repented of are forgiven. Since future sins are not only not committed and incur no guilt, repentance is unnecessary.
